Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2013

Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2013

Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2013 by losangelesbrunette on Polyvore

Hihi. I told you I would be posting some more of my favorites from fashion week.  Here they are! Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2013!  I loved what they did with this collection.   I'm loving all of the elaborate embroidery and cathedral inspired looks.  My favorite is the shorts and white tee.  It's such a simple outfit, but it reminds me of a nun and works so well with the church theme.  I can certainly appreciate the attention to detail when embroidering Italian cathedral mosaics onto a garment piece.  I liked that this collection also had many practical pieces.  The tweed skirt, the lace dress and the black coat are all practical options.  Hope you like this collection as much as I do!

Oscars!

Hihi. I'm not going to lie I was a little disappointed about the dresses on the red carpet for the Oscars this year.  My absolute favorite was Naomi Watts in Armani Prive.  She just looked stunning.  My other favorite was Maria Menounos in Ramona Keveza.  She was the only person who brought some amazing color onto the red carpet.  I thought her dress was classic and gorgeous.  For not being a size 2, Octavia Spencer looked fabulous in Tadashi Shoji.  Kristen Stewart's Reem Acra dress was gorgeous enough to be a wedding dress.  I just wish she did something with her hair and didn't look like she was wasted....

Amy Adams was one of the few that looked Oscar worthy in her princess like Oscar de la Renta gown.  Jessica Chastain looked simple but stunning in her Armani Prive gown. Halle Berry looked like sex on a stick in Elie Saab. Catherine Zeta-Jones was wearing Zuhair Murad, Kelly Rowland was in Donna Karan, and Olivia Munn in Marchesa.

What did you all think of the gowns on the red carpet?

Fashion Week Picks by losangelesbrunette on Polyvore

Hihi.  I know I'm a little late to jump on the Fashion Week bandwagon, but here are my picks!  I was going through the runway pictures from a few of my favorite shows and I thought DVF had some amazing pieces.  There were so many great shows it was hard to narrow it down to just one.  I will definitely post some more of my favorites.  I'm loving all the fur that I am seeing on the runway! Stay tuned for more :)

LACMA

Jacket: Forever21 (old) similar here
Faux fur stole: h&m
LA tank: Brandy Melville
Leggings: American Apparel
Shoes: Converse
Watch: Marc Jacobs
Necklace/bracelets: Brandy Melville here and here

Hihi. A few weeks ago I went to the LACMA to hang out.  I had driven past the lights exhibitions a million times, but never stopped by to actually check them out.  It is actually a really cool exhibit.  If you are in the area and have a few minutes to hang out I definitely suggest stopping by.  Also, across the street there were a bunch of food trucks lined up.  Its a fun way to spend the day.  I made my dad take these pix and I promised him I would take him to Joan's on Third to repay him.  I'm really into bacon these days so I had their BLT.  I know what you're thinking.  How could a BLT be so good? It can. Just trust.  We ended up seeing Bobby Flay there, so you know I'm not lying when I say they have great food!

Happy Wednesday!

Brunette goes to SF! Travel Guide

Hihi!! I'm super excited today because I am heading off to the bay area! I was going to surprise my boyfriend for Valentine's Day, but I kind of spoiled the surprise.  I'm also really excited to reunite with my college friends!

I thought I would make today's post about my travel essentials. Here are some of the items I must have in my carry on/purse.  Since I am not really the type of person that "travels light" I always end up taking a huge carry on bag that holds whatever my main luggage can't squeeze in.  My absolute must haves are baby lotion and chap stick.  I like feeling hydrated...  Because of TSA's lame safety regulations regarding lotions/liquids I ended up buying this travel size baby lotion.  You best believe I would have thrown in the full size version of the lotion if there were no such regulations.  Turns out this travel size holds way more lotion than I expected and it comes in handy.  Anti bacterial hand soap is really handy too for obvious reasons.  I really like how the Target brand travel size smells.  I am really into Bobbi Brown's BB cream.  It's seriously the best product.  It is foundation, moisturizer and sunblock all mixed into one.  I think it has some other useful properties as well, but I mostly care about the first three I mentioned.  I used to use another one of Bobbi Brown's tinted moisturizers, but the color was really orange and not in a good way.  They definitely got it right with the BB cream.  Mascara and blush are also my go-to's when freshening up after a flight.  I love how Maybelline's Mega Plush mascara fans out my lashes and Nars Orgasm is my go to blush these days.  Finally, you obvs need an adorable make up bag to carry it all in.  This one is from forever21.  I bought it awhile ago, but here is a similar one.

Happy Wednesday!

Hihi.  Since I did a gift guide for women, I thought I shouldn't discriminate and do one for men.  Here are some gifts that I think any guy would like.  I think it depends what kind of person you are buying for, but I think most guys are usually lacking at least one of these products.  I'm sure your guy has a belt, but why not buy him a nice one for special occasions?  I'm really into card cases instead of wallets, but that's my preference.  Anyways....happy shopping! V-day is just around the corner!

I want. Wednesday: SHOES!

I want. Wednesday: SHOES!

I want. Wednesday: SHOES! by losangelesbrunette featuring boots

Hihi. I was thinking that maybe I should change my I want Wednesday posts to "Shoe Wednesday".  That has such a great ring to it, right?  Anyways, I was doing my reg online shopping and wishing I was in NY for fashion week, when I stumbled upon these fabulous shoes.  I might have lost my mind for a few minutes.

These are the trends in shoes that I think will be big this spring/summer.  I definitely see more and more of the translucent pumps.  Christian Louboutin, Monolo Blahnik and Gianvito Rossi have all come out with this same type of shoe.  The Christian Louboutin version is definitely my fave.  They just seem to look sexier on your feet.  Metallics is another big trend, especially in shoes.  I am definitely liking the cutout oxfords that I am seeing everywhere.  I think they look great with skirts and pants.  Ughk and the over the knee gladiators. There are no words.  Altuzzara really knows what's up.  Alexander Wang is doing over the knee sandals for Spring too. Finally, get yourself some ankle strap stilettos. Just trust.

I found all these shoes that should be located in my closet in the Tommy Ton edit for Saks.

1. Altuzzara Leather Gladiator Over the Knee boot
2. Aquazzura Amazon Leather Lace up Sandal
3. Altuzzara Leather Over the Knee Boots
4. Gucci Ursula Leather Horsebit Ankle Strap Sandals in Cobalt
5. Gucci Ursula Leather Horsebit Ankle Strap Sandals
6. Alexander Wang Lyoka Textured Metallic Leather Cutout Oxfords
7. Monolo Blahnik Pacha Translucent Patent Leather Pumps

Happy Shopping!!

Vita Fede mini omega bracelet
Karen Walker Eyewear tortoise sunglasses
NARS Cosmetics lip stick
CÉLINE mini bag
Cartier love ring

Hihi.  Hope everyone had a good weekend.  I pretended to watch the superbowl yesterday.  I watched just enough to know that the go daddy commercial was the most awkward and painful 30 seconds of my life.  If you didn't see it you can watch it here.  I hope Bar Refaeli got a fat check for that..........

Beyonce's half time show was A-mazing! I thought she killed it!. I was a huge Destiny's Child fan growing up and  their reunion on stage was awesome! Even though I think they turned Michelle's mic off on purpose.(lol JK!)

Here is my Monday morning pick.  Since fashion week is coming up, I thought I would keep things moving and post some great spring looks.  I'm over winter....

Happy Monday!

Is it Spring yet?

Madewell western blouse
Giambattista Valli floral skirt similar here and here
rag & bone high heel boots
Miu Miu handbag similar here
Marc by Marc Jacobs marc jacob
Turquoise jewelry
Tom Ford cat eye sunglasses similar here

Hihi.  I don't know about all of you, but I'm super over sweaters and scarves.  I'm ready for it to be Spring.  Seeing these gorgeous prints and colors doesn't really help the situation.  I'm in love with this maxi skirt by Giambattista Valli.  I think you can make maxi skirts work in any season depending on what you pair it with.  I also love pairing turquoise with coral, I'm not sure why, but I think it works.

I'm so happy it's Friday! Now all I need is for it to be 5:00pm ;)
